Pangkalpinang, JURNAL TIPIKOR– Lembaga Perlindungan Saksi dan Korban (LPSK) mencatat peningkatan signifikan dalam jumlah permohonan perlindungan pada tahun 2024.
Sepanjang tahun lalu, LPSK menerima total 10.217 permohonan perlindungan saksi dan korban tindak pidana, sebuah angka yang jauh melampaui 7.600 permohonan yang diterima pada tahun sebelumnya.
“Kami baru saja dapat menyampaikan jumlah permohonan perlindungan saksi dan korban di tahun 2024 yang menunjukkan peningkatan cukup tinggi dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya,” ujar Wakil Ketua LPSK, Antonius P.S. Wibowo, di Pangkalpinang pada Sabtu (12/7).

Antonius menjelaskan bahwa puluhan ribu permohonan tersebut datang dari berbagai provinsi di Indonesia, mencerminkan kebutuhan masyarakat yang semakin meningkat akan perlindungan hukum.
Sumber permohonan perlindungan ini sangat beragam. “Permohonan yang paling banyak berasal dari kuasa hukum, karena mereka adalah orang-orang terdekat dari saksi maupun korban tindak pidana yang semakin kompleks ini,” tambahnya.
Selain dari kuasa hukum, permohonan perlindungan juga banyak diterima dari rekomendasi kepolisian, pengajuan langsung oleh korban dan saksi sendiri, keluarga korban, dan yang menarik, juga dari berbagai instansi pemerintah, baik pusat maupun daerah.
“Permohonan dari instansi pemerintah ini cukup banyak,” tegasnya.
Menanggapi peningkatan ini, Antonius Wibowo menekankan komitmen LPSK untuk terus meningkatkan koordinasi dan sinergi dengan berbagai organisasi, baik pemerintah maupun non-pemerintah, di tingkat pusat maupun daerah.
“LPSK sebagai lembaga yang diberikan mandat oleh pemerintah dalam pemberian perlindungan kepada saksi dan korban, implementasinya tidak terlepas dari dukungan seluruh pemangku kepentingan baik di pusat maupun daerah,” pungkasnya.
Peningkatan jumlah permohonan ini menunjukkan semakin tingginya kesadaran dan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap peran LPSK dalam memberikan rasa aman bagi saksi dan korban tindak pidana.
