JAKARTA, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Ketua Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, menyatakan bahwa prosedur pembebasan bersyarat terhadap narapidana kasus korupsi KTP-el, Setya Novanto, harus tetap dijalankan.
Meskipun demikian, Setyo mengakui bahwa keputusan tersebut dapat menimbulkan persepsi ketidakadilan di mata publik.
“Prosedur itu harus dijalankan, meskipun saya yakin ada yang merasa kurang adil,” ujar Setyo saat dihubungi dari Jakarta, Selasa (19/8/2025).
Setyo menjelaskan bahwa pembebasan bersyarat merupakan bagian dari sistem hukum pidana yang berlaku di Indonesia saat ini. Oleh karena itu, prosedur tersebut wajib diikuti sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.

Secara terpisah, Juru Bicara KPK, Budi Prasetyo, mengingatkan kembali kepada masyarakat bahwa kasus korupsi KTP-el yang melibatkan Setya Novanto merupakan kejahatan yang sangat serius.
Dampak dari kasus ini tidak hanya dilihat dari besarnya kerugian negara, tetapi juga dari degradasi kualitas pelayanan publik yang merugikan seluruh masyarakat Indonesia.
“Ini adalah kejahatan serius karena dampaknya terhadap seluruh masyarakat Indonesia, bukan hanya dari besarnya kerugian negara,” kata Budi.

Sebelumnya, Kepala Kantor Wilayah Ditjen Pemasyarakatan Jawa Barat, Kusnali, mengonfirmasi bahwa Setya Novanto telah mendapatkan pembebasan bersyarat.
Menurut Kusnali, Setya Novanto baru akan bebas murni pada tahun 2029, dan selama masa pembebasan bersyarat ini, ia wajib lapor hingga April 2029.
