Sukabumi, Jurnaltiikor.com,Dalam upaya mendukung program swasembada pangan nasional, Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (KASAD) Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, M.Sc., meresmikan proyek pengairan pertanian di Desa Pangumbahan, Kecamatan Ciracap, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Selasa (22/07/2025).
Peresmian ini menandai langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian melalui optimalisasi lahan tadah hujan.
Program pengairan ini pun merupakan bagian dari skema besar pembangunan pertanian di wilayah Jawa Barat, dengan cakupan total 5.495 hektar di 53 titik.
Khusus di Sukabumi, sistem irigasi yang diresmikan mencakup 424 hektar lahan. Peresmian dilakukan secara simbolis melalui penekanan tombol sirine, disaksikan oleh lebih dari 1.000 peserta, termasuk pejabat tinggi TNI AD, unsur Forkopimda, tokoh masyarakat, serta kelompok tani setempat.
Dalam sambutannya, Jenderal TNI Maruli menyatakan bahwa proyek ini bukan hanya tentang air dan sawah, tetapi juga tentang sinergi TNI, pemerintah daerah, dan masyarakat dalam menjaga ketahanan pangan nasional.
Ia juga menekankan akan pentingnya peran Babinsa sebagai garda terdepan dalam mendampingi dan mengawasi pelaksanaan program ini.
Sebagai bentuk kepedulian sosial, KASAD menyerahkan 500 paket sembako kepada perwakilan masyarakat dan kelompok tani. Di samping itu, Gubernur memberikan bantuan insentif sebesar Rp 20 juta kepada Babinsa sebagai dukungan pengawasan program pengairan selama satu tahun.
Acara ditutup dengan ramah tamah, doa bersama, dan sesi foto. Peresmian ini menjadi tonggak penting dalam percepatan pembangunan sektor pertanian yang tangguh, mandiri, dan berkelanjutan di wilayah selatan Jawa Barat.
