JURNAL TIPIKOR – Kapolri Jenderal Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo memerintahkan Kabareskrim untuk melalukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut dugaan teror yang menimpa media Tempo.
“Saya sudah perintahkan Kabareskrim untuk melaksanakan penyelidikan lebih lanjut,” ujar enderal Pol. Listyo Sigit di Medan, Sabtu malam.
Kapolri mengatakan bahwa pihaknya akan memberikan pelayanan terbaik untuk menindaklanjuti hal tersebut.
Sebelumnya, Dewan Pers meminta pelaku teror berupa pengiriman kepala babi yang dikirimkan ke Kantor Tempo dan ditujukan kepada jurnalis Francisca Christy Rosana pada hari Kamis (20/3) diusut hingga tuntas agar kejadian serupa tidak terulang.
“Terkait dengan peristiwa tersebut Dewan Pers meminta agar aparat penegak hukum mengusut tuntas pelaku teror. Kenapa? Karena jika dibiarkan, ancaman dan teror seperti ini akan terus berulang,” ucap Ketua Dewan Pers Ninik Rahayu dalam konferensi pers di Jakarta, Jumat.
Ninik menjelaskan bahwa kemerdekaan pers merupakan salah satu wujud kedaulatan rakyat dan dijamin sebagai hak asasi sebagaimana diatur dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers. Oleh sebab itu, Dewan Pers menyayangkan insiden tersebut.

Menurut Ninik, wartawan dan media massa bisa saja melakukan kesalahan dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Namun, melakukan teror terhadap jurnalis maupun media atas kesalahan tersebut tidak dapat dibenarkan.
Ia menegaskan bahwa pihak yang merasa keberatan atau dirugikan atas produk jurnalistik sejatinya dapat menempuh mekanisme yang diatur dalam Undang-Undang Pers dan Kode Etik Jurnalistik, yakni menggunakan hak jawab atau hak koreksi.
Dewan Pers menganjurkan Tempo melaporkan insiden teror tersebut kepada aparat keamanan dan penegak hukum sebab teror dan intimidasi merupakan tindak pidana.(*)
