JAKARTA, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Harta kekayaan Otto Toto Sugiri meroket, orang terkaya yang dijuluki ‘Bill Gates’ Indonesia kini mempunyai Rp112,4 triliun. Harta kekayaan Otto Toto Sugiri naik ditopang kenaikan harga saham PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII).
Berdasarkan data Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), Jakarta, Senin (10/3/2025) pukul 09.55 kini harga saham tembus level DCII Rp169.950. Ini menjadi level tertinggi sepanjang masa (ATH) baru sejak DCII melantai di bursa pada Januari 2021.Dengan harga saat ini, saham DCII juga menjadi yang termahal di bursa.
Dengan kenaikan harga saham DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII), kini harta kekayaan Otto Toto Sugiri meroket menjadi USD6,9 miliar atau setara Rp112,4 triliun (kurs Rp16.300 per USD) dan menduduki peringkat 6 dalam daftar orang terkaya di Indonesia versi Forbes. Demikian dilansir Forbes real time billionaires 2025.
Padahal, sebelumnya harta kekayaan Otto Toto Sugiri mencapai USD2,21 miliar atau sekira Rp36 triliun dan menduduki peringkat 26 dalam daftar 50 orang terkaya di Indonesia versi Forbes 2024.
Otto Toto Sugiri merupakan CEO dan pendiri DCI Indonesia, perusahaan pusat data di Indonesia yang didirikan pada tahun 2011. Perusahaan ini menyediakan layanan infrastruktur pusat data yang aman dan andal bagi perusahaan teknologi, perbankan, dan berbagai industri lainnya di Indonesia.
Miliarder berusia 71 tahun ini dijuluki sebagai Bill Gates dari Indonesia oleh Chief Operating Officer (COO) perusahaan Dattabot, Tom Malik. Dia selalu mengusahakan yang terbaik untuk mendongkrak kredibilitas DCII agar dapat menarik klien besar.
“Saya tertantang untuk membuat fasilitas dengan standar tertinggi, yang mana tidak murah. Pusat data Tier IV menghabiskan uang lebih banyak 60% dibandingkan Tier III. Namun, ini adalah persoalan membangun kredibilitas,” kata Otto Sugiri.
Sertifikasi Tier IV adalah sertifikasi terbaik di golongannya. Sugiri pun secara terang-terangan mengungkapkan keinginan agar DCII dapat menjadi pemain terbesar di Indonesia.
“Pusat data di Indonesia akan menjadi lebih kritis seiring dengan kemajuan internet global dan kesadaran perusahaan teknologi akan pentingnya untuk lebih dekat dengan para penggunanya. Target kami saat ini adalah menjadi pemain terbesar di Indonesia. Inilah arena bermain kami,” katanya.

Sejak awal kariernya, Otto Toto Sugiri merupakan penggebrak industri teknologi Indonesia. Setelah mundur dari Bank Bali, untuk pertama kalinya dia mendirikan sebuah perusahaan bernama Sigma Cipta Caraka pada 1989.
Sigma merupakan salah satu perusahaan software pertama di Indonesia. Belum genap setahun beroperasi, perusahaan itu telah berhasil memperoleh pendapatan USD1,2 juta.
Pada 1994, dia membuat gebrakan lain dengan Indonet. Dia membuat masyarakat Indonesia dapat mengakses internet dengan perusahaannya itu.
Memasuki tahun 2000, Otto mendirikan Bali Camp dan membuat pengecek ejaan bahasa Indonesia untuk Microsoft. Sayangnya, perusahaan itu harus tutup imbas peristiwa bom Bali 2002.
Pada 2008, Sugiri menjual 80% kepemilikan Sigma kepada PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) dengan janji membuat Sigma go public. Namun, janji tersebut tak kunjung terealisasi dan membuatnya menjual sisa kepemilikan Sigma. Hal ini akhirnya membuat Sugiri sempat terpikir untuk pensiun.
Selepas melakukan penjualan Sigma, Toto kembali mendirikan dan mendanai perusahaan teknologi yakni perusahaan data center tier 4 pertama di Indonesia bermodal senilai USD200 juta bernama DCI Indonesia yang akhirnya memperkaya Toto pasca sahamnya diborong oleh Anthony Salim.
Prospektus IPO DCII menyebutkan produk pendiri perusahaan yakni Otto Toto Sugiri, salah satu tokoh data center dan perusahaan teknologi di Tanah Air.
Dia memperoleh gelar Sarjana dan Master di bidang computer engineering dari RWTH Aachen German University, Jerman pada 1980.
