Penjelasan Sejarah Hari Kebangkitan Nasional bersama Dani Nurahman.
Kota Bandung, JURNAL TIPIKOR— Ngobrol informasi edukasi bersama Kabid Sapras SMP Disdik Kota Bandung, H. Dani Nurahman S.Ap., M Ap., perihal Sejarah Hari Kebangkitan Nasional yang jatuh pada tanggal 20 Mei.
“Hari Kebangkitan Nasional adalah bangkitnya semangat nasionalisme, persatuan, kesatuan dan kesadaran suatu bangsa yang muncul dari para rakyat terutama anak-anak muda,” jelas Dani Nurahman disela kesibukannya, Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani,Bandung (22/05).
“Dimana, meereka menggabungkan diri melalui gerakan organisasi yang sebelumnya tidak pernah muncul selama masa penjajahan,” tambahnya.

Lanjut Dani Nurahman mengatakan, bahwa pada tahun 1908 dr. Wahidin Soedirohoesodo, dokter yang akrab disapa dengan Mas Wahidin itu, bertemu dengan 3 orang mahasiswa yang sangat mengagumi dirinya. Mahasiswa tersebut berasal dari sekolah kedokteran Stovia di Jakarta. Mereka bernama Sutomo, Gunawan Mangunkusumo, dan Suraji.
Kemudian dalam pertemuan itu, Sutomo mengusulkan kepada Mas Wahidin agar usaha-usahanya diperluas. Tidak hanya bidang pendidikan saja, melainkan juga pertanian, peternakan, perniagaan, industri, hingga kesenian. Maka untuk mewujudkannya, perlu didirikan organisasi atau perkumpulan.
Sutomo dan teman-temannya lantas menyiapkan sebuah pertemuan besar. Mereka mendanai sendiri pertemuan itu, dan bahkan ada yang menjual sarung plekat yang saat itu sangat laris. Ada juga yang menjual sorban, menyumbang uang jajan, hingga uang sakunya. Pertemuan tersebut akhirnya terlaksana pada tanggal 20 Mei 1908. Lahirlah organisasi yang lengkap dengan peraturan-peraturan dasarnya seperti tujuan, rancangan kegiatan, anggota, serta pengurus organisasi.

“Alhasil, lahirnya organisasi Budi Utomo langsung disambut para pelajar dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Bahkan dalam satu tahun saja anggotanya mencapai 10.000 orang. Pada masa itu, organisasi semacam ini memang baru pertama kalinya di Indonesia. Di organisasi tersebut, banyak pemuda Indonesia yang melatih dirinya dan menjadi pemimpin dari berbagai organisasi pergerakan kemerdekaan yang lahir kemudian,” tuturnya.
“Oleh karena itu, tanggal 20 Mei diperingati sebagai Hari Kebangkitan Nasional. Bahkan bangsa Belanda pada waktu itu melihat lahirnya Budi Utomo sebagai bangkitnya Indonesia.,”tandasnya.
