Banten, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) kembali menyerukan kewaspadaan tinggi bagi masyarakat Indonesia terkait ancaman Gempa Megathrust, khususnya pada segmen Selatan Jawa yang memanjang hingga Selat Sunda dan Segmen Enggano di Sumatra.
Indonesia, yang terletak di Cincin Api Pasifik (Ring of Fire), memiliki 13 segmen Megathrust dengan potensi energi besar yang terkunci dan bisa dilepaskan sewaktu-waktu.
Peneliti dari Pusat Riset Kebencanaan Geologi BRIN, Nuraini Rahma Hanifa, mengungkapkan bahwa energi yang terus terkumpul di zona subduksi selatan Jawa secara bertahap akan mencapai titik pelepasan. Jika energi ini dilepaskan sekaligus, dampaknya bisa memicu gempa bumi hingga Magnitudo (M) 8,7.
“Semakin lama energi yang terkumpul ini akan mencapai titik pelepasan energinya melalui pergerakan mendadak yang memicu getaran atau guncangan yang sangat kuat atau gempa bumi,” ujar Rahma kepada CNBC Indonesia, Minggu (26/10/2025).
Guncangan kuat tersebut diprediksi dapat menimbulkan perpindahan kolom air laut yang masif, memicu gelombang tsunami yang sangat besar. Potensi tinggi tsunami diperkirakan bisa mencapai 20 meter di wilayah Pangandaran.
Tsunami dari segmen Selatan Jawa ini diprediksi akan menyebar luas, bahkan menjalar hingga ke kawasan Selat Sunda dan pesisir lainnya:
- Pesisir Banten: Diprediksi akan terdampak dengan ketinggian tsunami sekitar 4 hingga 8 meter, tergantung lokasi.
- Pesisir Lampung: Wilayah yang menghadap Selat Sunda juga dipastikan akan terdampak secara meluas.
- Pesisir Utara Jakarta: Tsunami diperkirakan menerjang dengan ketinggian 1 sampai 1,8 meter.
Menurut perhitungan Rahma, waktu tiba gelombang tsunami juga patut menjadi perhatian serius: - Wilayah Lebak (Jawa bagian selatan) diperkirakan hanya memiliki waktu sekitar 18 menit setelah gempa.
- Pesisir utara Jakarta, yang akan menjadi wilayah yang pertama kali terkena imbas di Ibu Kota, diperkirakan tsunami akan tiba dalam waktu 2,5 jam.
BRIN menekankan bahwa dampak dari gempa Megathrust sangat besar dan kompleks, tidak hanya terbatas pada korban jiwa dan cedera, tetapi juga kerusakan infrastruktur, lingkungan, serta gangguan sosial ekonomi dan layanan dasar.
Imbauan Kesiapsiagaan:
BRIN mengajak seluruh lapisan masyarakat dan pemangku kepentingan untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan dan kesiapsiagaan menghadapi risiko Megathrust.
