Bandung, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Bandung terus memperkuat langkah untuk menjadikan Kawasan Konferensi Asia Afrika (KAA) sebagai Warisan Dunia UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization).
Upaya strategis ini diwujudkan melalui Simposium Pengusulan Kawasan Konferensi Asia Afrika sebagai Warisan Budaya Dunia UNESCO yang digelar di Hotel Savoy Homann, Kamis 16 Oktober 2025.
Wali Kota Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, menyampaikan bahwa proses pengajuan ke UNESCO merupakan perjalanan panjang yang membutuhkan kolaborasi lintas sektor, baik dari pemerintah pusat maupun daerah.
“Hari ini Disbudpar menyelenggarakan simposium untuk mulai mengumpulkan dokumentasi dan melanjutkan upaya kita mendaftarkan Kawasan Konferensi Asia Afrika sebagai Memory of the World di UNESCO. Targetnya dalam lima tahun ke depan bisa masuk status tentatif,” ujar Farhan.

Farhan menuturkan, proses menuju pengakuan UNESCO harus dilalui dengan disiplin dan konsistensi, termasuk melalui lembaga seperti ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) yang menjadi jembatan ke Kementerian Kebudayaan dan Kementerian Luar Negeri.
Saat ini, Pemkot Bandung fokus memastikan warisan fisik dan nilai-nilai sejarah di kawasan KAA tetap terjaga dengan baik.
“Tugas pemerintah saat ini adalah memastikan agar peninggalan fisik dan nilai-nilai sejarah di kawasan ini tidak hilang. Jangan sampai wajah Kota Bandung ditentukan oleh selera penguasa, tapi oleh kepatuhan terhadap regulasi,” tegasnya.
Ia menekankan pentingnya tata ruang dan perlindungan cagar budaya di sepanjang ruas Jalan Asia-Afrika.
Kawasan yang menjadi saksi sejarah KAA 1955 itu harus dikelola dengan visi jangka panjang yang berpihak pada pelestarian sejarah dan penguatan karakter kota.
“Aturan tata ruang, perlindungan cagar budaya, dan potensi ekonomi kawasan harus berjalan beriringan. Ini bukan hanya menjaga bangunan, tapi menjaga jati diri bangsa,” imbuh Farhan, seraya berharap simposium ini dapat menghasilkan rumusan strategis untuk mendukung pengajuan resmi ke UNESCO.
Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kota Bandung, Adi Junjunan Mustafa, menjelaskan bahwa simposium ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari komitmen Kota Bandung dalam melestarikan warisan budaya yang memiliki Outstanding Universal Value.
“Melalui simposium ini, kita ingin memperkuat justifikasi ilmiah dan historis dari kawasan KAA serta menghimpun dukungan multisektoral sebelum diajukan ke Tentative List Nasional dan UNESCO,” ungkap Adi.

Simposium yang berlangsung selama dua hari ini menghadirkan para pakar dari Kementerian Kebudayaan RI, Kementerian Luar Negeri, akademisi, hingga tim ahli cagar budaya tingkat nasional.
Peserta akan membahas empat sesi utama, mulai dari pengakuan warisan budaya dunia hingga strategi pengelolaan tapak sejarah Konferensi Asia Afrika.
Adi menambahkan, hasil simposium akan dirangkum dalam 20 dokumen strategis berisi rekomendasi dan materi presentasi yang akan menjadi dasar pengajuan resmi ke UNESCO. Hasil kegiatan juga akan dipublikasikan secara luas.
“Kami berharap upaya ini dapat berjalan sukses dan membawa kawasan Konferensi Asia Afrika menjadi bagian dari warisan dunia UNESCO, sekaligus memperkuat identitas Bandung sebagai kota sejarah dan budaya dunia,” pungkasnya.
