JAKARTA, JURNAL TIPIKOR-– Wakil Ketua DPR RI sekaligus Wakil Ketua Umum Partai NasDem, Saan Mustopa, mengaku sangat terkejut saat mendengar kabar wafatnya tokoh olahraga, purnawirawan militer, dan pengurus Partai NasDem, Mayjen (purn) I Gusti Kompyang (IGK) Manila, pada Senin pagi.
“Jadi pas saya lagi di Pangkal Pinang, begitu mau pagi, sudah dapat kabar Bapak (IGK Manila) sudah berpulang. Jadi ini terus terang, sangat mengagetkan,” ujar Saan saat menghadiri persemayaman IGK Manila di Aula Akademi Bela Negara Partai NasDem, Pancoran, Jakarta Selatan.
Menurut Saan, kepergian Gubernur Akademi Bela Negara Partai NasDem itu sangat mengejutkan karena ia masih menerima pesan singkat dari IGK Manila pada Senin subuh.
“Jam 05.45 saya masih terima WA (WhatsApp) dari beliau. Biasanya tiap pagi itu selalu kirim WA ke semua pengurus, sahabat, dan semuanya, selalu menyapa selamat pagi,” ungkapnya, menjelaskan kebiasaan IGK Manila yang rutin menyapa para kerabatnya setiap pagi.

Ia juga menambahkan bahwa kondisi IGK Manila tampak sehat saat terakhir kali mereka bertemu pada Rapat Kerja Nasional (Rakernas) Partai NasDem di Makassar pada awal Agustus.
“Setelah itu belum ketemu lagi karena memang ada beberapa agenda partai di luar kota,” kata Saan.
Profil Singkat IGK Manila
I Gusti Kompyang Manila lahir di Singaraja, Bali, pada 8 Juli 1942.
Ia dikenal sebagai purnawirawan militer dan legenda sepak bola Indonesia. Manila sukses membawa Timnas Indonesia meraih medali emas SEA Games. Prestasi ini sempat bertahan lama sebelum akhirnya tim Merah-Putih kembali meraih medali emas pada 2023.
Di tingkat klub, ia juga mencatat prestasi gemilang. Manila pernah mengantar klub Bandung Raya menjuarai Liga Indonesia pada 1996 dan menjadi sosok penting saat Persija Jakarta meraih gelar juara Liga Indonesia pada 2001.
Selain sepak bola, IGK Manila juga aktif dalam cabang olahraga wushu. Ia membidani lahirnya Pengurus Besar Wushu Indonesia (PBWI) pada 1992 dan menjadi ketua umum pertamanya.
Hingga akhir hayatnya, IGK Manila menjabat sebagai Gubernur Akademi Bela Negara NasDem dan Sekretaris Majelis Tinggi Dewan Pimpinan Pusat Partai NasDem.
