Batam, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) hari ini memusnahkan barang bukti sabu seberat 2 ton di Alun-Alun Engku Putri, Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau. Kegiatan pemusnahan ini dikemas dalam sebuah pesta rakyat yang meriah, bertujuan untuk mengedukasi dan melibatkan masyarakat secara langsung dalam upaya pemberantasan narkoba.
Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik dan Keamanan, Budi Gunawan, yang hadir secara daring, menegaskan bahwa narkoba merupakan ancaman serius bagi bangsa.
“Narkoba adalah ancaman nyata yang harus ditangani dengan sangat serius, karena telah menelan 3 juta warga negara kita sebagai pengguna,” ungkap Menko Polhukam Budi Gunawan dalam sambutannya.

Pemusnahan sabu 2 ton ini merupakan hasil tangkapan BNN dari berbagai operasi penindakan narkoba di wilayah Kepulauan Riau dan sekitarnya. Dengan nilai fantastis, barang bukti ini disita sebelum sempat diedarkan dan merusak lebih banyak generasi muda.
Kegiatan pesta rakyat yang menyertai pemusnahan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya narkoba, sekaligus memperkuat komitmen bersama dalam memerangi peredaran barang haram tersebut. Berbagai pertunjukan seni dan budaya lokal turut memeriahkan acara, menciptakan suasana yang positif dan edukatif bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat yang hadir.
