Pengangguran bukan sekadar angka statistik. Di balik data, ada harapan masyarakat, khususnya generasi muda, untuk mendapatkan kehidupan yang lebih baik,” ujar Erwin.
Erwin menuturkan hal itu saat membuka Maranatha Job Fair 2025 di Universitas Kristen Maranatha, Kamis, 8 Mei 2025.

Dalam acara yang melibatkan 21 perusahaan tersebut, Erwin juga mengingatkan pentingnya pemberdayaan UMKM dan penyediaan akses kerja yang inklusif bagi penyandang disabilitas.
“Kami terus mendorong berbagai program pelatihan, fasilitasi wirausaha, serta memperkuat kolaborasi dengan dunia industri dan pendidikan,” tambahnya.
Erwin menyebut, Pemkot Bandung menargetkan Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) Kota Bandung dapat ditekan lebih lanjut hingga berada di kisaran 6,5-6,9 persen pada tahun 2025.

Ia menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Universitas Kristen Maranatha yang aktif menjembatani dunia akademik dengan dunia kerja.
Sementara itu, Rektor Universitas Kristen Maranatha, Prof. Frans Umbu Datta menyoroti komitmen kampus dalam menyiapkan lulusan tidak hanya sebagai pencari kerja (jobseeker), tetapi juga pencipta lapangan kerja (job creator).
Berdasarkan survei alumni 2024, 7,63 persen lulusan Maranatha tercatat menjadi entrepreneur, dengan lebih dari setengahnya sebagai pendiri usaha (founder).
“Ini membuktikan bahwa lulusan kami mampu menciptakan peluang, bukan hanya mencari peluang,” ujar Frans.
Ia juga menyebutkan, mayoritas peserta job fair kali ini justru bukan alumni Maranatha, karena lulusan Maranatha umumnya sudah terserap pasar kerja dalam waktu tiga bulan pasca-wisuda.
Sebagai informasi, data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengangguran terbuka (TPT) di Kota Bandung turun dari 8,84 persen pada Agustus 2023 menjadi 7,40 persen pada Agustus 2024.
Penurunan ini dinilai sebagai hasil dari berbagai langkah strategis yang telah dilakukan, mulai dari pelatihan berbasis kompetensi, program padat karya, hingga penyelenggaraan job fair seperti ini.
