JURNAL TIPIKOR – Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (KSAD) Jenderal Maruli Simanjuntak memastikan, jajarannya bakal tunduk pada hasil akhir dari pembahasan revisi Undang-Undang Tentara Nasional Indonesia (UU TNI) yang sedang bergulir di Komisi I DPR. Saat ini, DPR sedang membaha Rancangan Undang-Undang TNI yang baru sebagai pengganti UU Nomor 34 Tahun 2004.
“Kalau nanti keputusannya seperti itu, ya kami ikut. Kami akan loyal 100 persen dengan keputusan,” kata Maruli dalam siaran pers TNI AD kala mengunjungi Puslatpur Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Sumatra Selatan, Rabu (12/3/2025).
Pernyataan tersebut dilontarkan Maruli untuk merespons polemik yang terjadi di publik terkait beberapa poin revisi UU TNI, seperti penambahan usia pensiun perwira TNI hingga prajurit aktif yang boleh masuk ke instansi pemerintahan. Menurut Maruli, masyarakat tidak perlu berpolemik soal kebijakan penambahan usia pensiun.

Pasalnya poin tersebut masih dibahas di tingkat DPR dan belum menjadi UU yang mengikat. Selain itu, masyarakat melalui perwakilannya di DPR juga berhak mengkritisi poin di RUU TNI soal penambahan usia pensiun tersebut. “Silakan saja nanti bagaimana kebijakan negara,” kata Maruli.
Hal yang sama, lanjut Maruli, juga berlaku untuk poin soal jabatan sipil yang bisa dimasuki perwira aktif TNI. Menurut Maruli, ketakutan yang dibangun di tengah masyarakat akan kembalinya Indonesia ke masa dwifungsi ABRI era Orde Baru terlalu berlebihan.
“Jadi tidak usah ramai bikin ribut di media, ini itu lah, Orde Baru lah. Menurut saya itu pemikiran yang tidak baik,” tegas Maruli.

Maruli menilai, isu-isu tersebut terkesan menyerang institusi TNI AD sehingga membuat persepsi masyarakat akan jajarannya memburuk. Menurut Maruli, selama ini seluruh perwira aktif yang masuk ke institusi sipil memiliki latar belakang prestasi yang baik dan sesuai dengan institusi sipil terkait.
“Menurut saya, otak-otak (pemikiran) seperti ini, kampungan menurut saya,” ujar Maruli geram dengan pihak tertentu yang berperilaku tebang pilih dalam menyerang institusi TNI AD.
Dia merasa heran, para aktivis dan pengamat tidak bising ketika ada instansi lain menguasai pemerintahan. “Ini orang waktu ada salah satu institusi masuk ke semua kementerian, nggak ribut gitu loh. Apakah dia bekerja di institusi itu? Nah, ini perlu media-media tanggap seperti itu. Apakah agen asing kah atau apa?” ujar Maruli mempertanyakan.(*)
