Bandung, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Wakil Wali Kota Bandung, Erwin menegaskan komitmen pemerintah dalam mendukung upaya pemberantasan buta huruf Al-Qur’an di Kota Bandung. Program ini harus berjalan dengan sistematis dan bukan sekadar wacana.
Kami tidak ingin ini hanya menjadi rencana tanpa realisasi. Jika ada metode yang efektif dan dikembangkan oleh warga Bandung sendiri, tentu harus kita dukung penuh,” ujar Kang Erwin saat bersilahturahmi dengan Kelompok Kerja Majelis Taklim (KKMT) di Balai Kota Bandungdi Balai Kota Bandung, Jumat, 7 Maret 2025.
Erwin memastikan, Pemkot Bandung berupaya berkoordinasi bersama Kementerian Agama.
“Dengan sinergi, Pemkot Bandung dan Kemenag diharapkan dapat mempercepat pemberantasan buta huruf Al-Qur’an di Kota Bandung,” katanya.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, KKMT mengajukan metode Alghani sebagai pendekatan utama dalam Gerakan Utama Mengaji.
Ketua KKMT Kota Bandung, Kamal menjelaskan, metode ini telah dikembangkan oleh para ahli dari Bandung dan memiliki potensi besar dalam membantu masyarakat belajar membaca dan menulis Al-Qur’an.
“Kami ingin metode yang lahir dari Bandung bisa diterapkan di kota ini. Jangan sampai justru metode dari luar yang lebih diterima,” ujar Kamal.
Selain itu, KKMT juga menyoroti tantangan utama dalam program ini, yakni belum adanya data valid mengenai warga yang belum bisa membaca Al-Qur’an.
Oleh karena itu, KKMT mengusulkan langkah awal berupa pendataan melalui camat hingga RT/RW agar program dapat berjalan lebih terarah.
Rifa, pengurus KKMT Gedebage menambahkan, metode Alghani adalah aset berharga bagi Bandung jika berhasil diterapkan secara luas.
