Setibanya Prabowo di hotel tempat ia menginap di London, ia diberi buket bunga oleh perwakilan penyambut. Di sana Prabowo ditunggu sejumlah mahasiswa dan mahasiswi yang tergabung dalam Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) London.
“Kita sebagai tim PPI telah prepare dari jam 6 pagi bahkan ada yang dari jam 4 pagi untuk mempersiapkan makanan dan beberapa dokumen juga agar perjalanan Pak Prabowo berjalan dengan lancar,” ujar Tessalonika Sitorus dari Queen Mary University of London jurusan LLM Commercial and Corporate Law.
Adapun, Ketua PPI London Swara Reiki January dari Goldsmiths University of London turut mengungkapkan antusiasmenya bertatap muka secara langsung dengan Prabowo.
“Wah, itu salah satu pengalaman yang gak bisa terlupakan. Gak bisa tergantikan. Saya juga belum pernah ketemu Bapak Presiden, barusan ketemu langsung itu jujur bikin saya makin semangat lagi juga untuk belajar,” ungkap Reiki.

Hal senada diungkapkan oleh Nicholas Chang mahasiswa dari Bayes Business School jurusan BSc Finance Hons.
Meskipun Nicholas belum berkesempatan bersalaman ataupun berfoto dengan Prabowo, ia mengatakan mempersiapkan penyambutan Prabowo di London adalah pengalaman yang mengesankan.
“Kita dari persiapan udah dari 3 hari sebelum, kita ikut tim advance dari hulu ke hilir. Kita survey bandara, dan setelah bandara, hotel tempat Pak Prabowo sekarang menginap,” tuturnya.
Seperti diketahui, lawatan Prabowo ke Inggris ini melanjutkan lawatan kunjungan kerjanya setelah sebelumnya telah ke mengunjungi beberapa negara, yaitu China untuk menemui Presiden Xi Jinping, Amerika Serikat untuk bertemu Presiden Joe Biden, Peru untuk menghadiri forum APEC, dan Brasil untuk menghadiri forum G20.(*)
