Washington, DC — Menutup lawatan di Amerika Serikat, Presiden RI Prabowo Subianto menerima kunjungan dari Menteri Pertahanan Llyod James Austin, Rabu (13/11) siang waktu setempat.
Prabowo menyambut kedatangan Menhan AS dengan ramah tamah dan hangat untuk kemudian keduanya melakukan pertemuan secara tertutup.
Adapun hal yang dibahas dalam pertemuan antar keduanya ini saling bertukar informasi dan pandangan dari berbagai isu strategis mengingat hubungan Indonesia dan Amerika ini juga telah berhubungan baik selama 75 tahun lamanya.
“Saya sama beliau sudah bekerja sama lama. Ya kita bicara masalah-masalah yang aktual, kerjasama di antara kedua negara. Tukar menukar informasi dan pandangan. Saya kira itu intinya,” tutur Prabowo.

Lebih lanjut, Prabowo juga menyampaikan sejumlah poin penting yang dibahas dalam pertemuan kedua negara ini yakni perihal peluang kerjasama ekonomi yang akan mensejahterahkan rakyat.
Selain itu, Prabowo dan Llyod Austin juga membahas perihal konflik di jalur Gaza dan ketegangan di Laut Tiongkok Selatan.
“Ya kita bahas itu, saya tetap menyarankan two state solution (di Palestina) sebenarnya mereka juga setuju,” kata Prabowo.
Perihal konflik di Gaza, Prabowo menganggap hal tersebut penting untuk bersama-sama mencari solusi perdamaian.
“Kita bekerja kita berharap untuk bisa gencatan sejata segera. Laut cina selatan kita bahas, saya katakan kita ingin kerja sama dengan semua pihak,” lanjutnya.

Dengan demikian, Prabowo menyimpulkan sangat penting untuk mengedepankan kerjasama demi mempertahankan kedaulatan.
“Kita menghormati semua kekuatan tapi kita juga akan tetap mempertahankan kedaulatan kita. Tapi kita memilih, saya memilih selalu mencari peluang untuk kerja sama,” tutup Prabowo.(*)
