JURNAL TIPIKOR – Presiden Joko Widodo menjelaskan alasan dirinya mengajukan pemberhentian Kepala Badan Intelijen Negara (BIN) Budi Gunawan kepada DPR RI.
“Oh itu administrasi saja,” kata Jokowi di sela kunjungan kerja di Sumatera Utara, Rabu, sebagaimana rekaman suara yang diterima di Jakarta.
Dia menjelaskan hal itu sudah didiskusikan dengan Prabowo Subianto selaku Presiden Terpilih, di mana Prabowo Subianto menghendaki melantik Kepala BIN yang baru bersama-sama dengan menteri kabinet pada tanggal 21 Oktober 2024.
Oleh karena itu, Surat Presiden tentang pergantian Kepala BIN dilayangkan ke DPR RI.
“Dan kita juga telah berbicara dengan Pak Prabowo. Itu atas permintaan dari Pak Prabowo,” kata Jokowi.

Sebelumnya Ketua DPR RI Puan Maharani menyebut Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengusulkan Letjen TNI (Purn) Muhammad Herindra sebagai calon Kepala Badan Intelijen Negara (BIN) untuk menggantikan Jenderal Polisi (Purn) Budi Gunawan.
“Jadi sudah diusulkan satu nama dari Presiden Jokowi. Surpres (Surat Presiden) Pergantian Kepala BIN atas nama Pak Herindra,” kata Puan saat konferensi pers di Kompleks Parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta, Selasa (15/10).
Dia mengatakan bahwa Herindra yang saat ini menjabat sebagai Wakil Menteri Pertahanan (Wamenhan) RI akan mengikuti uji kelayakan dan kepatutan (fit and proper test) oleh tim pemberian pertimbangan dalam pengangkatan dan pemberhentian Kepala BIN di DPR RI pada Rabu hari ini.(*)
