Jakarta, JURNAL TIPIKOR— Presiden RI Prabowo Subianto mengucapkan selamat Hari Pers Nasional ke-79 kepada seluruh insan pers di Indonesia salam video yang disiarkan di Youtube Sekretariat Presiden, Minggu (9/2)
Prabowo mengatakan pers adalah pilar penting dalam kehidupan demokrasi yang menyuarakan kebenaran kepada masyarakat.
Ia mengingatkan agar pers selalu mengutamakan kepentingan negara dan rakyat karena pers yang profesional dan berintegritas merupakan aset suatu bangsa.
“Pers yang profesional yang punya integritas adalah aset bagi suatu bangsa. Tetapi perlu saya ingatkan, bahwa pers Indonesia harus selalu mengutamakan kepentingan bangsa, negara, dan rakyat Indonesia,” ujar Prabowo.

Prabowo menyebut dunia pers Indonesia saat ini menghadapi tantangan yang sangat dinamis. Oleh karena itu, meskipun kebebasan pers harus dijunjung tinggi, perlu ada kewaspadaan terhadap penyebaran berita-berita yang tidak benar, hoaks, dan kebencian.
Ia pun berharap agar pers senantiasa waspada dengan susupan penggiringan opini tidak benar yang biasanya melalui suntikan modal-modal besar.
“Ada kecenderungan di dunia ini, mereka-mereka yang punya modal besar menguasai media dan ingin mempengaruhi masyarakat negara-negara tertentu,” kata Prabowo.
“Upaya-upaya pecah belah ini harus selalu kita waspadai,” lanjutnya.
Prabowo mengatakan meski demikian dirinya optimistis pers Indonesia akan selalu setia kepada negara dan pembangunan bangsa.
“Pers Indonesia harus menjadi pers yang Pancasila, pers yang terlibat dalam pembangunan bangsa yang berkomitmen terhadap Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia,” ucapnya.(*)
