Kegiatan yang mengusung tema “Internasionalisasi Kota-Kota Indonesia: Promoting Center of Excellence and City Branding APEKSI”, tersebut turut dihadiri oleh Wamendagri RI, Bima Arya; Wamenkraf RI, Irene Umar; Duta Besar Bangladesh, Md. Tarikul Islam; First Secretary, Head of Political Affairs Uni Emirate Arab Embasy Jakarta, Mr. Abdulla Omar; Sekretaris Kedutaan Besar Republik Yaman, Catharina Mudiarti; PR Kedutaan Besar Republik Yaman, Sri Wahyuni;
Kemudian ada pula Dirjen Kerja Sama Kemenlu RI, Tri Tharyat; Direktur Eksekutif APEKSI, Alwin Rustam; Wali Kota Bandung, Muhammad Farhan; Wali Kota Pekalongan, Afzan Arslan, Forkopimda Kota Bandung, dan Plh. Rektor ITB, Prof. Irwan Meilano.

Ketua DPRD Kota Bandung yang akrab disapa Kang Asmul itu mengapresiasi terselenggaranya Simposium Bandung Asia Afrika City Network 2025 yang bertepatan dengan peringatan 70 Tahun Konferensi Asia Afrika dan Hari Kebangkitan Nasional.
Menurut Kang Asmul, Kota Bandung yang telah ditetapkan sebagai ibu kota bangsa-bangsa Asia dan bangsa-bangsa Afrika, harus mampu memberikan dan memperkuat citra positif sebagai tuan rumah di mata dunia.
“Mudah-mudahan dengan terselenggaranya Simposium Bandung Asia Afrika City Network ini Kota Bandung dapat menjadi fasilitator bagaimana menguatkan brand, dan menjadi kesempatan untuk menjalin komunikasi, dan saling belajar antara Kota Bandung dan kota-kota lainnya di Indonesia, bahkan dunia,” ujarnya.
Kang Asmul berharap dengan citra yang sudah terbangun selama ini Kota Bandung tetap perlu memperkuat diri sebagai kota tujuan wisata.
Oleh karena itu, pembentukan sebuah citra tidak cukup hanya berdasarkan persepsi publik, namun juga harus bisa dirasakan oleh seluruh kalangan masyarakat.
“Kota Bandung tetap perlu mem-branding diri. Saat ini kita sudah dikenal sebagai kota wisata yang terkenal dengan budaya angklungnya, fesyennya, kulinernya, dan mudah-mudahan bertambah lagi dengan kebiasaan aktivitas olahraga, yaitu lari pagi dari warganya, dan tentu saja Persib Bandung sebagai ikon gairah sepak bola,” ucapnya.
Kang Asmul menambahkan, sebagai ibu kota bangsa-bangsa Asia dan bangsa-bangsa Afrika, Kota Bandung juga harus mampu menjadi contoh bagi kota atau kabupaten lainnya di Indonesia.
“Kota Bandung harus menjadi leader bagi kota atau kabupaten lainnya, karena Kota Bandung bukan hanya sekadar rumah penyelenggaraan Konferensi Asia-Afrika, namun juga ibu kota. Maka, kita harus menjadi percontohan bagaimana kondisi kebersihan lingkungan, keramahan warganya, dan kesejahteraan dari masyarakatnya, agar citra positif didapatkan Kota Bandung di mata dunia,” katanya
